Summer is nearly over

So the Summer is nearing its end and I haven't posted many blogs. Alas it is not because there is a shortage of annoying drivers, I have a whole sheaf of papers in my car where I jotted down partial plate numbers, but I neglected to write down their offensive behaviour, or I just plain got busy enjoying my summer and didn't bother.

Rest assured that in a matter of weeks the students are all arriving, bringing unnecessary vehicle traffic to downtown, and I will be returning to work and having to navigate the perilous by-ways of our lovely city... and blogging will increase dramatically.

In the mean time, hope you are enjoying summer, travelling safely, and staying safe.

BLIND drivers not needed!

ok, so it has been a while, I swear that people are driving better around me lately.
BUT don't worry there are still things to blog about.

In this town there is a never ending supply of annoying habits displayed on our roads, and in this case in Parking Lots!

So whist waiting for my handsome fiancé to exit the building across the road, a smallish red car pulls up with a few young guys in it (picture to follow)... they proceed to park along the edge of the parking lot DIRECTLY under a no parking sign, and RIGHT in front of me! The driver gets out of the car looks at the sign, shrugs and hops across the road to the Liquor Store... leaving his (underage?) friends in the car.
Now... there is a no parking sign here for a reason people... there is almost always a reason, and in a parking lot it is usually because idiots like this park along the side and block the driving space and hinder people from getting in and out of parking spots... and of course this is when man of mine exits the building and we try to exit the lot... we come VERY close to taking off some of their paint since they parked in the NO PARKING area where cars are expected to drive in and out of the lot!!!

Incidentally I should perhaps mention that right beside me is a perfectly good EMPTY parking space... where you are supposed to PARK your car!! It was there when they pulled into the lot, and it was still free when I exited the lot... there is absolutely no reason for them to park where they did! Where are my friends in Parking Enforcement when I need them!!

It is a good thing I have a small car and not a huge boat or I would have driven right over the little ignoramuses.

Sleeping and driving do not mix

So today was a good driving day today, very few people managed to spark my ire.
I have to say I did get a good look of the truck accident on the 401 at the Division overpass, and man, my guess... SLEEPING and DRIVING don't mix. He took out 8 of the construction vehicles on the side of the road, when I saw it the entire top of the cargo box was burnt off, and there were firemen crawling through the brush to make sure nothing was going to go up.

After that there was only one person today who managed to make my bad driver list... AXHC___ Silver Odyssey. The woman driving changed lanes, turned a corner, and then tried to merge into traffic in front of me (aka: cut me off) all without signalling! now usually this wouldn't be in my top ten bad drivers of the day, but it was a good day out there... and she tried cutting me off!
Here is the tip of the day folks... when you use your blinkers they tell people where you want to go... and hey, they might make it easier for you to do that! I really like my front bumper right where it is too, so please... use your #$%# blinkers to INDICATE where you want to go!! I am NOT a mind reader!

To top it all off I sat behind her and witnessed her fixing her hair in here visor mirror... ugh I shudder. Again, certainly not usually anywhere near a top ten, but after trying to cut me off... just one more piece of kindling on her pyre.

Number one Worst Driver

Spring/Summer of last year? I don't remember the exact date but...

I was following a giant Hummer, up Centennial, west on Taylor-Kidd. He was a few car lengths ahead of me when he decided to change lanes from the left hand to the right hand to get around the little red pick up he was behind, but whoops there was a little white car there!

He must have not checked his side mirrors, but yup, there she was, so he swerves back into the left hand lane only to HIT the small red pickup truck that he had been following behind, which is now BESIDE him, he now compensates and swerves BACK to the right and SLAMS into the little white car!! he is now playing ping-pong down Taylor-Kidd.

Wet roads, big moron in a giant Hummer... here is your tip folks, STAY AWAY from Down Under Irrigation and their huge black hummer!!!

For the record, I was unable to stop immediately, safely, so when I turned around and tried to come back and park on the other side, I still could not find a safe place to stop, but the drivers were all out discussing the matter, so they were all in one piece, miraculously.
